Young cricketers get an opportunity to compete for selection to Andhra state-level teams

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has announced its U-23 and Senior Men’s Cricket Selection Trials for the 2026 season, providing an opportunity for talented cricketers across Andhra Pradesh to compete for selection. The announcement was made through the ACA’s official channels.

The selection process is aimed at identifying talented players who can represent their respective districts and potentially progress to Andhra state-level cricket.
Krishna District is one of the recognised full-member district cricket associations under the ACA, making the selection process relevant to players from the district.

The announced trials cover two important men’s categories:
- Under-23
- Senior
Players who meet the ACA’s eligibility requirements can participate in the selection process according to the schedule announced for their district.
đź“Ť Krishna District cricket infrastructure
Vijayawada has an established cricket ecosystem through the Krishna District Cricket Association (KDCA) and its association with the ACA.
Earlier this year, KDCA conducted U-16 boys’ selection trials at IGMC Stadium, Vijayawada, demonstrating the continuing district-level talent identification activity in Krishna.
The ACA also lists several coaches from Krishna District among its Central Zone coaching panel.

The selection trials are significant for young players because district-level selection can provide a pathway towards higher-level competitive cricket.
Players selected through the system can gain exposure to stronger competitions and potentially progress towards Andhra state teams and domestic cricket.
The ACA’s wider development programme also includes competitions and state teams across different age groups. Its official platform currently lists state-level teams including the Col C K Nayudu Trophy, U-19 Women’s T20, Senior Women’s T20, Ranji Trophy and Vinoo Mankad Trophy.
